Pamukkale, Turkey

Pamukkale, meaning “cotton castle” in Turkish, is a natural site in Denizli Province in southwestern Turkey. The area is famous for a carbonate mineral left by the flowing of thermal spring water. Dripping slowly down the mountainside, mineral-rich waters collect in and cascade down the mineral terraces, into pools below. It is located in Turkey’s Inner Aegean region, in the River Menderes valley. Over thousands of years, this mineral has formed pools of white water known worldwide for its healing properties. It was added as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1988.

Oia, Greece

Oia or Ia is a small village and former community in the South Aegean on the islands of Thira (Santorini) and Therasia, in the Cyclades, Greece. Perched on a cliff with amazing views of Thirassia island, Nea Kameni and the Palea volcano, the town is characterised by white-walled stone houses. The blue-domed monastery in the town has become a symbol of small-town Greece. It’s just one of the many elements that make Oia one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Torres Del Paine National Park, Chile

Located in the Chilean Patagonia, the Torres del Paine National Park is famous for its rivers, lakes, grasslands, glaciers, and mountains. The Torres del Paine are the distinctive three granite peaks of the Paine mountain range. From left to right they are known as Torres d’Agostini, Torres Central and Torres Monzino. They extend up to 2,500 metres (8,200 ft) above sea level and are joined by the Cuernos del Paine. Not only a place of unbelievably beautiful scenery, the park also is home to pumas, llama-like guanacos and wild horses.

Victoria Falls, Zambia/Zimbabwe

The Victoria Falls is located on the Zambezi River that forms part of the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. At 1,708 metres wide, it’s one of the biggest waterfalls in the world. It’s also is one of the prettiest places in the world you could visit. An incredible 500 million litres of water tumble over the 108-metre-high falls every minute, creating a thunderous roar that can be heard 40km away. The spray usually rises 400m above the falls, resulting in a permanent cloud of ‘smoke’. During the rainy season, the spray can reach twice that height.

Antelope Canyon, USA

Navajo Upper Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon in the American Southwest, on Navajo land east of Lechee, Arizona. It includes five separate, scenic slot canyon sections on the Navajo Reservation, referred to as Upper Antelope Canyon, Rattle Snake Canyon, Owl Canyon, Mountain Sheep Canyon and Lower Antelope Canyon. It is the primary attraction of Lake Powell Navajo Tribal Park. The Navajo name for Upper Antelope Canyon, means ‘the place where water runs through the rocks’. They are accessible by guided tour only.

Banff National Park, Canada

Banff National Park is one of Canada’s main natural attractions. Founded in 1885, it is the first and also the largest nature reserve in the country – its area is 6641 square kilometers. Since 1984 it is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Banff Park is located in Alberta, west of the town of Calgary, in the Rocky Mountains region of Canada. It was created to protect a diverse and unique landscape, as well as to develop the recreational and tourist infrastructure of the region.

Mount Fuji, Japan

Standing 3,776 metres tall, Mount Fuji is Japan’s highest mountain, and its active volcano is one of the country’s most recognisable places, which most recently erupted in 1707. Today, Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area are a popular recreational destination for hiking and camping. Visit Lake Kawaguchiko in the spring for some of the best views of the mountain and cherry blossom trees. Mount Fuji is undoubtedly one of the 10 most beautiful places in the world no matter what the weather.

Great Barrier Reef, Australia

One of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of the world’s largest coral reef. The reef contains an abundance of marine life and comprises of over 3000 individual reef systems and coral cays and literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands with some of the worlds most beautiful sun-soaked, golden beaches. Because of its natural beauty, the Great Barrier Reef has become one of the worlds most sought after tourist destinations.

Machu Picchu, Peru

Machu Picchu is one of the most famous ruins in South America, and to reach it, you need to ascend a 2,430-metre-high mountain ridge. While the intricate stone ruins of Machu Picchu are the work of 15th-century Incans, the site’s natural setting makes it even more alluring. Perched atop the flattened peak of a mountain, the ancient Wonder of the World benefits from the famous backdrop of Huayna Picchu, lush green surfaces, and a barrier of Andean peaks that, despite the landmark’s fame, makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon a secret.

Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

The Salar de Uyuni is one of the most beautiful places on Earth. Think 10 billion tons of salt sprawling across an endless desert. The Salar de Uyuni is a 10,582 square kilometer expanse of cracked white salt, left behind when an ancient salt lake named Coipasa dried up thousands of years ago. It is the world’s largest salt flat and is located at a high altitude of 3,656 meters (10,000 feet) above sea level. The vast oasis of salt boasts a horizon that never seems to end, making this spot a photographer’s dream.
