The last Miss World titleholders

Miss World is an annual international beauty pageant held in different countries each year since 1951 (except 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic). The winner is chosen based on various criteria such as beauty, intelligence, talent, and personality. Let’s take a look at the Miss World titleholders for the last years.

2011 - Ivian Sarcos (Venezuela)

Ivian Sarcos (born July 26, 1989) is a Venezuelan beauty queen and television host and became the fourth titleholder from Venezuela. Sarcos was in Ireland for Variety Children’s Charity sharing with Brian Ormond. She also travelled to Ghana and Kenya for humanitarian works.

2012 - Yu Wenxia (China)

Yu Wenxia (born 6 August 1989) is a Chinese beauty queen and is the second woman from China to win the Miss World title. During her reign as Miss World, Yu traveled to the United Kingdom, Italy, France, South Africa, India, Australia, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, United States, Haiti, Brazil, Turkey, Ghana, Hungary, Ukraine and China.

2013 - Megan Young (Philippines)

Megan Young (born February 27, 1990) is a Filipina-American beauty queen and actress. She is the first woman from the Philippines to win the Miss World title. Megan Young used her platform as Miss World to advocate for causes such as child rights and education. Young also received the Continental Queen of Beauty title as Miss World Asia 2013.

2014 - Rolene Strauss (South Africa)

Rolene Strauss (born 22 April 1992) is a South African beauty queen and physician. She became the third titleholder from South. Rolene Strauss has used her medical background to promote disease awareness. She was invited as a judge in Miss World 2018, becoming the first and so far the only Miss World from the 2010s to become a judge in a Miss World finals.

2015 - Mireia Lalaguna (Spain)

Mireia Lalaguna (born 21 November 1992) is a Spanish beauty queen and model and is the first woman from Spain to win the Miss World title. She was studying pharmacy at the time of her win. During her reign, she traveled to Indonesia, Puerto Rico, the United States, India, Kenya, Russia, China, Philippines, Korea, England, South Africa, Ghana, Mexico, Brazil, Italy, Jersey and Spain.

2016 - Stephanie Del Valle (Puerto Rico)

Stephanie Del Valle (born December 30, 1996) is a Puerto Rican beauty queen and model. She became the second woman from Puerto Rico to win the Miss World title. Stephanie Del Valle is also a singer and is involved in various charitable organizations. During her capacity as Miss World, she traveled to China, United Kingdom, United States, Indonesia, India, South Africa, Philippines, and numerous trips around Puerto Rico.

2017 - Manushi Chhillar (India)

Manushi Chhillar (born 14 May 1997) is an Indian beauty queen and model. She is the sixth woman from India to win the Miss World title. Manushi Chhillar is a medical student and is involved in various charitable organizations, using her platform as Miss World to advocate for menstrual hygiene and promotion of traditional arts in India.

2018 - Vanessa Ponce (Mexico)

Vanessa Ponce de León (born 7 March 1992) is a Mexican model and beauty queen and the first woman from Mexico to win the Miss World title. She is also a trained pilot and is involved in various charitable organizations. Vanessa Ponce de Leon is the oldest Miss World as of now. She won the contest when she was 26 years and 276 days.

2019 - Toni-Ann Singh (Jamaica)

Toni-Ann Singh (born February 1st 1996) is a Jamaican beauty queen and the fourth woman from Jamaica to win the Miss World title. She is also a singer and a student studying for her Master’s degree in health psychology. Her win made 2019 the first ever year that black women won the two of the Big Four most prestigious beauty pageant titles in the world.

2021 - Karolina Bielawska (Poland)

Karolina Bielawska (born 11 April 1999) is a Polish model, television presenter, and beauty queen who was crowned Miss World 2021. She became the second titleholder from Poland. After winning the elections, she engaged in charity activities, such as volunteering for “Soup na Pietrynie”, initiator of the Polish National Charity Action “Korona z Głowy” supporting those in need during the pandemic.
